1950s Korean War Spec USN Peacoat
1950’s Peacoat is very similar to the 40’s version with two very stark changes. Firstly the loss of 2 buttons making the front enclosure 8 instead of 10. This also gave the jacket a ‘lapel style’ as it fell in a more natural way. Worn as part of the wool dress blues uniform, the peacoat is often seen more onshore than at sea during the 1950’s
The 50’s spec as follows
anchor crested buttons to front
Heavy tan corduroy pocket lining
2 x hand warmer pockets
